I fully started landscaping as a freelancer in 2016 and I am still a freelance landscaper.
2016 is when I started my landscaping course at the University, it felt like a risk because as we grew up to reaching that age we expected a different approach to career, Since we had careers on mind like Civil engineering, Architecture
and even the thought of how it ought to be like such as sitting in offices, getting paid monthly and many standard definitions of success which surely is success too.
But here I am from upcountry tapping into something new in the market with no hope I would call it and with no aim of employment.
In our University we where the third lot in the new course of landscape design, as a matter of fact, we had zero rumors of success from the people that had gone before us.
My First Project
Thank God my first contract was working on my parents’ home. This became a clue to what possibly would became hope.
2017 I continued studying and hoping for the best, but my biggest interest was revealing what would change or become the new era of landscape design in Uganda, or may be eventually the World.
And as much as I could I gave myself to hard work and research;
I stretched to learning more than I had too, like learning new software, having perfect drawings, studying the behavior of new materials and many other innovations.
Swiss Architect
After applying for the Swiss Expert Contact program.
2018 I had an opportunity to work with a Swiss Expert, an Architect owning an architectural firm in Switzerland, and we worked together planning and advising for a Hotel with Over 30 rooms, a Shopping Mall, and a Children Playground.
And this opportunity came after someone saw the work I did at my parents’ compound. Here my my experience left being just ordinary, I had a taste of world class experience.
Out of the University
After the University I had to start planning my way in to the world from zero.
The hardest part of all was making sense of landscape design to Uganda, because even employers had no value of landscape design.

Hello, Patrick. Usually it depends on the complexity of the landscape you desire to do for your compound. It could vary with material used and size of the compound. I suggest you contact me 0778723536 or WhatsApp the same number and I can be able to make a site visit and estimate what it would take.
