Undoubtedly, having a wonderful skill in watering a plant is key to our goal of reducing plant death. Here are some quick points you can follow when doing your plant watering.
1. Use a simple record chart
Firstly, keeping records is the most proven way you can be able to learn and understand anything. With these records, you can be able to filter all problems and be able to even predict upcoming problems. To help you, I will share in my resources a free simple printable chart that you can use to keep good records of your plant and be able to understand its behavior.
2. Select pure clean water
It’s important to note when watering, try to avoid contaminated water like muddy water, soapy water, or water with any form of contamination. Consequently, contaminated water could introduce new diseases, destroy the plant or even the nutrients in the soil.
3. Add the right additives
You should be careful to check for the problems before you add any additives in the water. Such as take note of the soil PH, soil fertility, and more before you add anything to the water. If you are not aware of what you are adding please consult from an experienced landscaper or gardener. If not stick on pure and clean water.
4. First water the soil.
Water with less splashing to reduce erosion, I suggest you slowly flood the soil with water and then allow the water to penetrate the soil, and then repeat this after the water has fully penetrated. This is to ensure that there is uniform watering.
5. Finally water the leaves
To conclude, Watering the leaves helps to cool the plant, wash off the dust that hinders the plant processes and improve the transpiration process.
