We all desire a low cost Landscape Design for our Homes, however we cannot resist the desire of having the best quality landscape.
Here are some tips that will help as you plan to put up a beautiful landscape for your home.
1. Having aim of what you want.
Most people may have a weakness not knowing what they actually want for their outdoor space.
You need briefly to list some of the ideas depending on your aim of that outdoor space or compound.
The aim is determines factors like, the activities, area of compound, your budget.
Never start a project aimless. In case you have trouble developing an aim for your Landscape I would suggest you get a knowledgeable Landscape designer around you to take you through this process.
2. Outline the priorities
It is important to know what you actually need in your Landscape not just what you just want to try out. But something that you are actually going to use, or something that will became of great benefit to your life.
For example if you would love to improve your physical health, you can have something like a play area like badminton or squash, to make you and your family have exercise at its door step. And from the aim priority is got what we are building our landscape around.
For example someone may say they need more time outdoors at night, this will make lighting our priority.
3. Get a professional plan. To keep in the scope.
Many take this for granted but with a well planned project you will save a lot.
Because with a clear plan you can play around with the best material and and execution becomes the simplest puzzle.
Planning may involve material selection, quality selection, scheduling, labour estimates and even cost estimates.
Anyone who works without a plan one way or the other losses money, and a lot of it. Not only money but even time.
I would suggest for this stage you need a professional Landscape designer or Landscape architect to share with you through all this process. You can also slowly do it by yourself which may take longer and may have loss of some accuracy.
4. Never try to leave your well planned scope.
This is the biggest problem with most home owners, they never stick to a plan. If you want a well built compound that has the best quality use your budget right, and this happens in your scope or your plan that executes your aim. The more you leave the scope positively or negatively you end up losing the actual sense of quality.
5. Use the right metrics
In any design practice there are standard measurements for any structure.
I one day saw wanted fill up a drainage in a certain property, because the drainage was too small, it ended up destroying the things around it because the water had now got blocked. This resulted because of a poor metric of the standard drainage size for that given area. Same to to staircases, most homes have a poor metric execution of construction of staircases and so their is strain given to the climbers, causing a health and safety hazard. Most things in the Landscape are destroyed because of poor metric execution.
